The Geospatial Essentials for Drafting certificate offers an important opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills working with GIS software and spatial data for additional preparation in the rapidly-changing field of drafting. Students will expand on the required drafting classes, working with a GIS desktop program which is the basis for many drafting applications. The Geospatial Technology Work Experience allows students to quickly apply what they have learned in the classes to specific applications they will encounter on the job. Drafting classes in this certificate provide a strong foundation in the practice and theory of Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) software and civil drafting, to include the use of GIS in the civil engineering environment.
