KC’s Agronomy & Environmental Science program provides a blend of crop-related courses and practical application, ensuring a well-rounded agricultural education. The primary objectives of the program are to offer students technical knowledge in the areas of soils and fertilizers, pests and control procedures, and crop management. During the program, students obtain knowledge of current practices in crop production and technology within the production field, gaining confidence in producing locally grown crops. Upon graduation, students are prepared for successful careers, whether they choose to pursue position in the workplace or on the farm.
Program Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Explain agronomic principles and industry best-practices across the spectrum of crop production and soil management.
- Apply key concepts of Plant and Soil Science to provide solutions to common industry challenges and basic farm management.
- Demonstrate the use of technological advancements and applications in Agronomy.
- Complete a successful Supervised Occupational Experience. Additionally, students will identify, develop, and support their knowledge of career opportunities in Agriculture through intra- and extracurricular exposure to career pathways.
Students completing this degree must also complete curriculum requirements aligned with General Education Student Learning Outcomes.
