Function:
An automotive technology student worker is the liaison between Kaskaskia College auto customers in need of vehicle repairs and those who carry out those repairs (the auto students and instructors). They schedule maintenance and handle the appropriate paperwork.
Other work; Maintain the organization of the toolboxes and tool room. Light cleaning and sweeping of the auto lab.

Qualifications:
- Communication and Telephone Skills
- Some automotive knowledge
- Computer skills
- Ability to comprehend instructions and work with minimal supervision
- Typing, faxing, data entry, and Database Management
- Basic cleaning of indoor facilities, designated areas, and equipment
Required:
The student worker must be able and willing to do the following:
- Work with Kaskaskia College auto tech customers and auto students.
- Schedule automotive maintenance appointments and fill out a waiver form.
- Manage office communication when instructors are teaching in the lab and classroom
- Help prepare the auto lab for class.
- Assist students with scheduling and other lab paperwork.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Preferred:
- Some Automotive Repair Knowledge
- Some sort of high school vocational classes

- Put away & Organize tools & auto parts
Other Functions:
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Set up labs equipment for INDT
- Cut up scrap for all departments
- Cut and prepare weld coupons
- Once a week mop the welding shop to help with dirt being tracked through the building
- Clean machines
- Perform basic repairs and maintenance

Supervisory Controls:
The student will be given daily feedback on responsibilities

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Be able to lift at least 50 pounds
- Not be scared to get dirty.
Wage is $15.00 per hour.
