Art Galleries

Kaskaskia College is proud to host two art galleries that serve as vibrant centers for artistic expression and cultural enrichment. Our galleries provide a space where creativity is fostered, and art is celebrated, enhancing the educational experience of our students and enriching the community.

Alice Hudders Art Gallery

Located at our Vandalia campus, the Alice Hudders Art Gallery opened its doors on April 30th, 2024. This gallery is named after Alice Hudders, a pioneering graphic designer who dedicated her retirement years to promoting the arts in Vandalia. The gallery was inaugurated in the presence of KC President George Evans, KC Board of Trustees Chairman Bill Hawley, local dignitaries, and Vandalia Mayor Ricky Gottman, who all spoke about the integral role of art in education and community life.

The Alice Hudders Art Gallery aims to inspire and motivate both emerging and established artists. It is a hub for students and community members to explore their artistic potential through a variety of exhibitions and interactive events. The gallery's inaugural exhibition showcased diverse artworks by talented local artists, reflecting the rich cultural tapestry of our community.

Dee and Sue Boswell Gallery

Opened in 2007, the Dr. Dee and Sue Boswell Art Gallery is located in the Lifelong Learning Center on our Main Campus. This gallery exhibits an array of works by local and regional artists, as well as creative contributions from Kaskaskia College students and staff. It provides a dynamic platform for artists to display their talents and for the community to engage with the visual arts.
