SNAP Benefits for College Students
SB 351 assures Illinois’ community college students enrolled in approved Career and Technical Education programs have access to food security through SNAP benefits. An estimated 40,000 low-income community college students across Illinois – both full-time and part-time students – are now eligible for these benefits.
Below you will find a link with more information about the SNAP program and Community College students that talk about what the benefits are and how you apply. You will also find the link to the verification form that would need to be submitted to the Illinois Department of Human Services after it is completed by you and the college. If you would like assistance or to learn more about this new benefit, please contact the Financial Aid office.
