This course will introduce the student to the specialization topics related to respiratory care including bronchoscopy, chest tubes, polysomnography testing and sleep disorders, respiratory home care, pulmonary rehabilitation, patient education & health promotion for the cardiopulmonary patient. Electrocardiogram testing will be discussed with the information necessary to assess, interpret and treat life-threatening arrhythmias. The theory of hemodynamic monitoring and management of the critically ill patient will also be covered. Prerequisite: Completion of 1st, 2nd, and summer semester RESP courses
