This course will provide the student with the theory of assessing a newborn & pediatric patient. The pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, & treatment of neonatal and pediatric disorders will be presented with emphasis on management of those disorder. All aspects of neonatal mechanical ventilation will be covered. Advanced pulmonary function testing and interpretation of the test results as well as pulmonary function equipment and quality control procedures for the equipment will be discussed. Prerequisite: Completion of 1st, 2nd, and summer semester RESP courses.
