This course is an introduction to the fundamentals of playing the guitar. Through a combination of group exercises and individual practice, students will learn essential techniques, music theory, and practical skills for the guitar in a variety of musical styles. These techniques include basic guitar posture and anatomy, music notation, rhythm, scales, keys, chord shapes, and picking styles. This course will give students the skills to perform simple songs and the confidence to continue exploring the guitar on their own.
