Presents prerequisite skills necessary to be successful in Math 130 - Contemporary Mathematics. Taught concurrently with Math 130 by integrating course content with instruction in reading/learning/critical thinking skills necessary for successful performance of Math 130 course work. These skills will assist in the focus on mathematical reasoning and the solving of real-life problems rather than routine skills and appreciation. These skills will also assist the study of topics including mathematical modeling, probability and statistics, graph theory, and linear programming. Prerequisite: Meet placement via the Placement Chart in the college catalog. Concurrent enrollment required in Math 130. A failing grade in MATH 130 will result in a failure to pass MATH 030, regardless of any previous scores in MATH 030. Withdrawing from MATH 130 will result in an automatic withdrawal from MATH 030. This course is only offered face-to-face.
