The purpose of this course is to introduce students to community health nursing, health promotion and disease prevention across the life span. This course will explore nursing of individuals and groups in home and community settings. Maintenance of health and prevention of disease across various cultures will be stressed. Communicable disease control and disaster management will be discussed. Students will be assigned to agencies in the community for clinical experience. Quality experiences with nursing care of patients in the community will be offered. Prerequisite: Minimum grade of "C" in all first semester PRNU courses, PSYH 100, or with approval of instructor or Academic Dean
