Course Description: This course provides the student with the American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers certification.

AARP Driver Safety
3/4 and 3/5 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Course Description: The AARP Smart Driver course teaches valuable defensive driving skills and provides a refresher of the rules of the road. Since 1979, the course has helped over 14 million drivers learn proven safety strategies and tips for how to adapt ones driving to compensate for physical and cognitive changes that may come with aging. Plus, you may qualify for an automobile insurance discount by completing the course (participants should check with their auto insurance agent for details).
Caring for Houseplants
3/13 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Course Description: Learn proper care and propagation of common houseplants. Participants are encouraged to bring a healthy plant or propagation with established roots to swap or share with others.

Barn Quilts
3/11 and 3/13 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Course Description: Students will learn how to draw, tape, and paint their chosen quilt pattern on a 12" wood square. Your barn quilt will be finished and ready to hang at the end of the class.
Medicare and Social Security

Course Description: This workshop will help students navigate Medicare and Social Security. Review the latest changes and regulations to make informed decisions.

Sourdough Starter
3/19 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Course Description: Students will learn the history of how sourdough began, what sourdough is, and how to care for your starter. We will create a starter during class. Students will leave with a bag of flour, a new starter, care instructions and two recipes.

Starting Spring Seeds for Vegetables, Flowers, and more!

Course Description: Start your gardening adventure with us at this hands-on educational workshop. Starting your garden or flower beds from seeds is easy with some tips from University of Illinois Extension Educator Chris Lueking. She will give steps on starting your adventure and key steps to use during the process. The gardening workshop will have you starting your own microgreen garden to take home with you.

Natural Health Solutions with Essential Oils

Course Description: Would you like to take control of your health in a natural way? Come to this class to learn about multi-purpose remedies that you can have on hand to help your body heal itself without adding toxicity. We will talk about common health concerns as well as some that are harder to manage. Learn the varied benefits of common essential oils and supplements to get the most out of what you already own.
Writing Your Own Life Story

Course Description: Writing the story of your life can heal, inspire, and entertain, and only you can do it. This course leads you quickly through the process from idea to manuscript, helping you write like a pro. Only you can write your own life story.
Easter Cupcake Decorating

Course Description: Students will learn techniques to turn plain cupcakes into decorative and delicious masterpieces. Students will be decorating spring cupcakes for Easter.

Gardening 101
3/25 and 3/26 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Course Description: This course will provide education on how to start seeds, as well as a few gardening methods. We will also go through seasonal planting, we cover some pest identification and end with a seed swap. Participants will leave with knowledge on how to map their gardens for a successful season. Students are welcome to bring their own seeds to swap!

Pre-Hospital Pediatric Education for Professionals (PEPP)

Computer Basics

Course Description: This hands-on computer course gives beginner computer users the skills to become a seasoned computer user. Students will learn computer terms as well as basic components and parts of the computer. Learn to create, save, and print documents. MS Windows, Word, and Excel will be discussed along with basic internet functions.
Natural Gardening & Farming

Course Description: A history of natural gardening and farming. Learn why it is important to get back to the original way of growing plants for our health and happiness.
Intro to Astro Photography
3/12 and 3/14 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Course Description: Students will learn to use different cameras, telescopes, and techniques to photograph astrological/celestial images. Students will also learn how to spot or use apps to spot different celestial objects in the universe.
Barn Quilts
3/19 and 3/21 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Course Description: Barn Quilts are blocks of wood painted to resemble a quilt. This is a very easy and fun project, and the finished work can be displayed on your home, barn or garage. Barn Quilts are comprised of simple geometric shapes and are easy to create.
