The Kaskaskia College Auto Collision Program Advisory Board Meeting was held recently.
Discussion included various recruitment techniques for the program including high school visits, Career Day participation and having open house days each Tuesday and Wednesday during the month of April so that prospective students could visit with the students and see firsthand the skills and techniques needed to be successful in Auto Collision.
The advisory committee also discussed updating the curriculum to include offering a 30 hour O.S.H.A. General Industry class that would be available for Collision repair students or anyone wanting to obtain a 30 hour O.S.H.A. card. Possible summer and fall classes were also discussed.
Budget needs and concerns for updating current equipment were also discussed along with needed shop improvements including installing a drop ceiling.
