Special Library Announcements
Good News!
This spring the KC Library will be joining a consortium of 427 libraries in Southern Illinois, which will mean changes in our
library system. There are several important dates we want to share with you, in order to make the transition smooth, with
minimal disruption to library services.
March 15 – April 9
Neither patrons nor library staff will be able to place any holds for anyone.
March 22
Any unfilled holds will be cancelled and cannot be
re-established until April 9.
April 1 - 9
We cannot make new library cards, nor can we look up library accounts
by name. You will have to have your card with you to check any items out.
We cannot check out books from other libraries.
Don’t be an April Fool!
Be sure you have a library card before April 1.
WE APOLOGIZE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE THIS TRANSITION CAUSES

Field Trip Packs
from the
Illinois Department of Natural Resources

Early childhood
educators can borrow this resource here!
The Illinois Department of Natural
Resources’ Division of Education has developed a new educator resource, and it’s
ready for you to use. Field Trip Packs
were developed for loan to early childhood educators (grades prekindergarten
through three). Each pack is a backpack that contains hands-on equipment to
encourage young children to engage in nature exploration. Suggestions for
educators on how to incorporate natural-resources related topics into the
curriculum are also included.
Please call the Kaskaskia College Library for further instructions to use the
Field Trip Packs at (618) 545-3130
