The Engineer performs the following activities in accordance with good engineering practices and ensures the safety of the public and plant personnel is maintained.  Key responsibilities include:
- Monitor system performance through review and evaluation of predictive maintenance results, surveillance testing results, observation of system operation, and interfaces with operating departments and organizations.
- Identification, prioritization, and resolution of system material condition or performance problems
- Review preventative maintenance requirements for assigned systems to ensure reliable system operation and optimum availability while controlling costs by eliminating unnecessary activities and spare parts.
- Provide technical support to all plant departments to assist in resolution of operations or maintenance problems
- Perform routine inspections and walk downs of assigned systems and equipment; give special attention to items that might not be noticed during routine inspections performed by other departments
- Facilitate system activities by being the focal point of system knowledge, operation, performance, maintenance, trending, and testing
- Perform engineering evaluations and reviews of applicable NRC and INPO documents including conduct of safety evaluations and dispositioning of nonconformance reports
- Evaluate equipment failures to identify root cause of failure of selected equipment
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Nuclear or Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university required.  Engineer-in-Training or Professional Engineer Registration preferred.
Experience in the fields of Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
Must have good leadership, decision making, communication and human relations skills.  Security screening required for Callaway plant access.
