Intermountain Electronics, Inc.,  a world-class company that designs, engineersand manufactures sophisticated, custom electrical distribution and controlequipment is seeking an Metal Fabricator at its Centralia, IL facility. Ourcompany serves multiple business sectors such as: underground and surface mining, refineries, oil and gas, tunneling, power generation, and government.

Major responsibilities include:  Will position, align, fit and weld parts


together using a MIG welder and pulse process. Fabricate and assemble sheet

metal products. Read and understand bending details. Locate and mark bending

and cutting lines into workpiece. Understand layout and plans sequence of

operations. Hammer chip and grind workpiece; cut, bend and straiten metal.  Set up and operate fabricating machines such

as brakes, shears, flame cutters, grinder, and drill press. Read prints and

visualize end product. Verify conformance of workpiece to specifications.  Read tape measure and other measuring

devices. Competencies include: analytical, design, problem solving, project

management, oral skills, interpersonal, cost conscious, diversity, ethics,

adaptability, time management.
Operate a forklift and

overhead crane.

Qualifications:
Must have knowledge and skills to perform correct and accurate measurements.

Must be able to read and interpret diagrams.

Operate and maintain various hand tools. Must be able to operate

a forklift, overhead crane, MIG welder, press brake, shear, iron worker, louver

punch.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those

encountered in the course of the work.

MIG certification preferred.

Must be able to work general mathematical

concepts-fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical

situations

Must be able to carry out instructions.

Must comply with and follow all IE standards, policies, and procedures,

as they apply to this position.

Requires a High School Diploma or GED, plus 2 yrs of experience or equivalent combination of education and

experience. 

Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds; Specific vision

abilities required by this job include Close vision, Color Vision, Depth

perception and Ability to adjust focus; 

Regularly required to stand; sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk

or hear, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and

arms.
