Kaskaskia College Career and Technical Education students across the State came together for the opening ceremony of the 50th anniversary of Illinois SkillsUSA in Springfield. On Friday morning, April 4th, hundreds of competitors competed in their specific fields and by the end of the day students had experienced an unforgettable day. On Saturday morning, the event ended with closing ceremonies and awards.
Kaskaskia College was represented in Springfield by 20 students and 8 advisors with all 20 students finishing in the top ten of their competitions! KC brought home eight (8) gold medals, seven (7) silver medals, three (3) bronze medals, and one (1) 4th place recognition for the state. In addition, Kaskaskia College received an Illinois SkillsUSA 2nd place membership award.
