Centralia Junior Woman’s Club Scholarship

The Centralia Junior Woman’s Club has established a scholarship for Allied Health students at Kaskaskia College.  Cindy Rogers of the club brought a donation to the scholarship fund recently.


The Centralia Junior Woman’s Club was started in 1940, the same year that Kaskaskia College was established.  The Club is a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs-Illinois, and is a national and international organization.  The organization focuses on enriching the lives of others through volunteer service.


The health related scholarship is one of numerous projects the club sponsors in order to make a difference in someone’s life.  It has been given for many years to deserving students at Kaskaskia College who are trying to achieve their educational goals.


The following criteria have been established for the scholarship:

Preference is given to a female student residing in Centralia; applicants must be enrolled in an Allied Health field of study; Applicants must submit a letter of recommendation from a counselor, teacher, employer, etc, not from a friend or relative; applicant must submit an essay describing their field of study, career goals, number of credit hours they plan to take, and their financial situation.
