Trenton Education Center Construction Ahead of Schedule

The construction phase of the expansion of the Trenton Education Center is ahead of schedule, it was reported at the Trenton Center Steering Committee meeting on September 26 at the Trenton House restaurant.  The expanded Center is expected to re-open for classes in the spring of 2014.

The Trenton Education Center is being expanded from its original 3,800 square feet to nearly 16,000 square feet of instructional and community space.  This much needed project will allow for educational programming at the Center to expand to fill the needs of students and employers in the Western Clinton County region.

The Trenton Steering Committee is tasked with ongoing fundraising efforts to fulfill the private contributions portion of the project cost, with outstanding funds needed at $69,360, it was reported.  The fundraising campaign has raised $1.2 million to date.

Ongoing fundraising efforts will continue with committee members soliciting donations from individuals, businesses, and organizations that place high value on education and training as a way to better the economic outlook for families and businesses in the region.

Two of the main focuses on fundraising are a paver brick campaign and a cash raffle.  The College is asking private individuals, groups, businesses and civic organizations to help build a solid educational foundation in the Western Clinton County area by purchasing paver bricks that will be featured as part of the new entrance to the expanded Trenton center.  These attractive pavers are inscribed with names or messages of the donor’s choice, similar to the bricks seen outside the gates of Bush Stadium.  A 4” by 8” paver, with up to thirteen characters inscribed, can be purchased for a donation of $150, while an 8” by 8” paver with up to 26 characters is $300.  Suggested inscriptions may memorialize a loved one, give lasting recognition to a graduate, honor a civic organization, or simply give a message of support for the expansion of the Center.

The cash raffle will consist of two hundred tickets, each costing $100, to be sold for a winner take all drawing for $10,000 that will be held during a Trivia Night the College will host at the Aviston American Legion Hall on December 7, 2013.
