Description: Trauma Emergencies is a comprehensive exploration of prehospital trauma care. This course details the anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of trauma. The significant amount of care that can be provided by prehospital professionals to help reduce morbidity and mortality is emphasized. The course addresses the various types of trauma based on the body systems involved. Additionally, the course reviews and underlines the effects of hemorrhage and shock and provides a detailed discussion of assessment and care of the trauma patient. Consent of Program Coordinator.
