Precision Agriculture

Associate in Applied Science

Kaskaskia College and Parkland College have partnered to enhance agricultural education opportunities more accessible to students within both college districts. The colleges recently signed an articulation agreement that allows KC students to attend Parkland's Precision Agriculture Program in Champaign at KC's in-district rates. At the same time, students in Parkland's district will be able to participate in KC's Animal Science Program at Parkland's in-district rate.

The agreement opens an opportunity for students in KC's district to receive a degree in one of the fastest-growing agriculture industry trends. Precision agriculture is a farm management concept that employs the latest technology such as data analytics, drones, and remote sensing equipment to help growers make essential decisions on seeding, variable-rate fertilizer application, and crop health indicators to maximize crop yields.
