Leaf: Red-maroon, aging to reddish green.  
Flower: Red buds open to dark red-rose flowers in March.  
Fruit: Generally the fruits of these trees are small, no more than half inch in diameter.  
Form: 15' to 20' feet tall with a rounded form, shiny bark.
