Modes of Instruction

This certificate will introduce some of the most fundamental skills necessary for employment in the carpentry trade. The courses within this certificate will focus on the skill set needed for wood frame construction, site layout, and exterior siding and trim. Students will be introduced to drainage planes, door and window flashing, elevations associated with site work, percent slope, and setting up and operating transit/levels and laser levels. Students will also be introduced to OSHA safety standards needed on every construction job site and an understanding of construction materials available to modern builders.
