Addieville Jaycees Donate to Kaskaskia College Nashville Education Center Campaign ​Kaskaskia College is pleased to announce the Addieville Jaycees have recently donated $500 to the Nashville Education Center Campaign.

According to President Alex Eade, “The Addieville Jaycee’s are proud to be able to make this donation to the Nashville Education Center Campaign. Many of our members are KC graduates and we are excited to be able to support this project. We know it will bring lifelong learning to the residents of Washington County."

Nashville Education Center Campaign Committee Meets The Kaskaskia College Nashville Education Center Steering Campaign Committee met for its regular monthly meeting on February 19 at the Original Springs Hotel in Okawville.

The committee, made up of community members and KC personnel, is tasked with design and fundraising for the project. The Committee is co-chaired by Brian Heckert, founder and wealth manager of Financial Solutions Midwest, LLC, and Sheila Burcham, CEO of the Community Trust Bank.

Village of Okawville Donates to Kaskaskia College Nashville Education Center Campaign Kaskaskia College is pleased to announce the Village of Okawville has donated $3,000.00 to the Nashville Education Center Campaign.

According to Mayor David Jasper, “The Village of Okawville is proud to be able to make this donation to the Nashville Education Center Campaign. We know that this new facility will serve the residents of Washington County for many years. Kaskaskia College is a great institution and we are happy to partner with them on this project.”

Mike and Marge Curry and Hannah Seeger Donate to Kaskaskia College Nashville Education Center Campaign Kaskaskia College is pleased to announce Mike and Marge Curry and their granddaughter Hannah Seeger all of Nashville have recently made donations to the Nashville Education Center Campaign.

The Curry’s have donated $2,000 and student Hannah Seeger has donated $100 towards the project.

Steering Committee Meeting Held for Nashville Education Center Campaign Kaskaskia College held a Steering Committee meeting for the Nashville Education Center campaign on Tuesday, December 17. The Committee is tasked with administering the campaign for the new Nashville Education Center to be built on Highway 127 north of Nashville.

The Committee, co-chaired by Brian Heckert, founder and wealth manager for Financial Solutions Midwest, LLC, and Sheila Burcham, CEO of the Community Trust Bank, is made up of several teams comprised of community volunteers and KC personnel. Each team is focused on specific groups to educate the public about the project and to solicit gifts as an investment in the future and to make the new center a reality.

Leo Dominic Barczewski Donates to Kaskaskia College Nashville Education Center Campaign Kaskaskia College is pleased to announce Leo Dominic Barczewski of Nashville has pledged $20,000 towards the new KC Education Center in Nashville.

Barczewski says, “Every member of my immediate family attended Kaskaskia College. My mother has worked for KC since she was 18. Some of my most vivid childhood memories are playing the video games in the upstairs of the cafeteria or attending KC baseball camps in the summer. This institution is part of my identity and I am honored to help continue its expansion and success”.

Advisory Board Meeting held in Nashville Kaskaskia College held its final in a series of Community Advisory Board meetings in Nashville on Monday, November 18 at the Nashville Education Center. The meetings are designed as a way to inform the community of the status of the College and to solicit feedback on how KC can best serve the needs of area employers and citizens.

Dr. Jim Underwood, President of Kaskaskia College, led the attendees through a booklet entitled “Kaskaskia College Report to the Community, 2013-14” that he called the College’s report card. Dr. Underwood pointed out the increased enrollments at the College over the last decade, due in part to increased use of the Education Centers found in communities throughout the district. Nashville has one of the smallest Education centers, but despite its lack of space and amenities it has seen increased use by students since its inception several years ago.

Markita Burcham Family Donates to Kaskaskia College Nashville Education Center Campaign Kaskaskia College is pleased to announce the Markita Burcham Family of Nashville has pledged $5,000.00 towards the new KC Education Center in Nashville.

According to Markita Burcham, “The Burcham Family is pleased to donate $5,000 toward the construction and completion of the KC Nashville Education Center. Kaskaskia College has been a part of our family since 1979 when our first son attended. In subsequent years 2 more sons attended. Also, my twin granddaughters received dual credit while at Nashville High School and attended KC at the Nashville Center as well as the main campus. Having the Education Center in Nashville expand will open doors to the traditional and non-traditional student as never before. I am proud to be a part of this exciting time of growth not only of the education of our citizens but also construction of a new education campus in Nashville and Washington County”.

Kaskaskia College Holds Kickoff Event for Nashville Education Center Expansion Campaign Kaskaskia College kicked off its fundraising campaign for the expansion of the Nashville Education Center at the site of the future building on Highway 127 north of Nashville on Friday, October 11.

The outdoor event, held under a large tent, was well attended by KC personnel and community members, including the mayors of Nashville and Okawville and State Representative Charlie Meier. Representative Meier also provided a pork chop luncheon for those in attendance.
