Torey Crowell
Head Coach

Crowell has served as the assistant coach for the Blue Angels for five years before coming Head Softball Coach. She is a graduate of Centralia High School where she excelled for the Annie’s in basketball, softball and track. She was inducted into the Centralia Hall of fame for winning 4th in state basketball. She is a 2004 graduate of Kaskaskia College where she obtained a degree in Computer Application Specialist and Networking. Crowell earned a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and Multi-Media from Capella University. During her tenure at KC, Torey also served as assistant volleyball coach and as an IT Technician.

This is Coach Crowell’s 6th year as head softball coach at Kaskaskia College. The Blue Angels finished have finished in the top 4 in the last 4 years in the Regional XXIV (24) conference. During the 5 years at Kaskaskia College Crowell had 5 players sign with 4 year colleges, and has 12 individual player’s finish as Academic-All-American, and her team finish with above 3.0 or above.

Coach Crowell believes that the players that are recruit are students first then athletes second, this is what will get the softball player to the next level from the JUCO level the University. She tries to instill this concept into her players to make her program successful. She expects the players will take full advantage of the opportunities that they have here at Kaskaskia College and in their future career.

Ashley Woodrome
Assistant Coach

Ashley Woodrome will begin her 1st year as one of the Assistant Softball Coaches at Kaskaskia College. Ashley graduated from Centralia High School where she excelled in softball as a pitcher. While playing for the Annie’s she received varsity letters all four years. Her sophomore year she received the Most Valuable Pitcher Award, junior year she received the Orphan Annie Award, and her senior year she made second team all-conference.

After high school she then went on to further her softball career at Kaskaskia College. While making the dean’s list every semester she also had many accomplishments on the field. Her freshman year she received the pitching award for most strikeouts. She also holds the school record at Kaskaskia College for most strikeouts in a game at 15. Sophomore year she made the NJCAA D1 Region 24 tournament team.

After Kaskaskia College she went on to play softball at Greenville College. Her senior year at Greenville College she made the SLIAC 3rd team. Her team went on to break the school record for most wins in a season her senior year. Woodrome also has experience coaching and is in her fourth year coaching girls traveling softball.

Robby Tate
Assistant Coach
Robby Tate has been the pitching and assistant coach for the Blue Angels since 2013 season. He has been involved with softball all of his life. He began with men’s major league softball tournament to coaching youth, middle and high school girls. His career also includes coaching travel teams from the St. Louis and Mt. Vernon area. Robby also owns his own softball and baseball facility known as the Bullpen located in Mt. Vernon IL. He does private pitching, hitting and defense training at the Bullpen. He has helped many boys and girls succeed in their dreams of becoming collegiate players or participating on a higher level travel team. Robby has come to Kaskaskia College with a lot of talent to bring to the softball program.

Robby currently lives in Mt. Vernon and is married to Kristin and has 4 children
