Student Employment
Federal Work-Study (FWS) and Institutional Work Study
Federal Work-Study is partially funded by the Federal Government. All students desiring employment
must complete a FAFSA to determine eligibility. Eligibility is based on remaining need after deducting
all other educational aid and benefits from the Cost of Attendance. Students must be enrolled for a
minimum of 6 credit hours to be eligible for student employment during the fall and spring semesters;
a minimum of 3 credit hours is required for the summer term. Students interested in employment at
Kaskaskia College should complete an Application for Student Work available in the Office of Financial
Aid or Career Center. Students earn minimum wage and are paid twice a month.
The Student Aid Report is required to be on file in the Office of Financial Aid before a student
employment application will be made available for review by supervisors. No student will be allowed
to begin employment until the Student Aid Report is on file and the student’s financial aid file is
complete.
