Location: St. Louis, MO
There are three positions available. The positions are located in Decatur and St. Louis.
The Engineer provides engineering design, engineering studies, and other technical support for projects to build new, or upgrade existing, transmission lines (voltages greater than 100kV). This will include project engineering duties on transmission projects in excess of $25M and a combination of project management and engineering duties on smaller transmission projects. Key responsibilities include:
- Establish basic design parameters and detailed design utilizing both computer design and hand calculations
-Preparation of material and construction specifications, coordination/review of drawing preparation, project cost estimation, project scheduling, project risk assessment, and project cost control.
-Participation in public informational workshops
-Creation of testimony for governmental and regulatory matters
-Coordination with internal and external groups such as real estate, environmental, purchasing, construction, legal, and outside consulting firms
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university required. Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, or active commitment to obtain, is required.
One or more years of experience with transmission line design, operations or maintenance, and project management systems is preferred.
Project management experience and/or certification, preferred.
Position requires good analytical, communication, human relations skills, and the ability to either work effectively as part of a team or independently on major projects.
Ability to handle multiple projects with varying completion dates.
