Title: Building Services Mechanic
Location: St. Louis, MO
Under direct but not constant supervision to do a general range of maintenance work to structures and equipment as required, at the General Office Building. Demonstrated ability to handle general maintenance work and the ability to read and understand blue prints and write clear and legible work reports and requisitions. In this connection to perform details of work such as:
-Air Conditioning, Heating Systems, Plumbing, Ventilating, Electrical Systems and Equipment, Audio-Visual Equipment, Office Furniture, Refrigeration Equipment, Overhead Cranes, Hydraulic Platform Lifts
-Hydraulic and Mechanical Loading Docks, Overhead Doors (all types), Gates (all types), Garage Service Equipment, Building Structures, Partitions, Floor Tiles, Ceilings, Windows, Doors and Associated Hardware, Minor brick, concrete and roof work, Fencing and Gates, Duplicate keys, Weld (simple gas and electric)
As required to assemble/ purchase equipment, Fabricate various items as needed in connection with maintenance work, Make adjustments, clean and lubricate office machinery. Observe and make necessary adjustments and repairs as needed.
Operate and drive Building Service Trucks and other vehicles assigned to the Department.
Graduation from high school or successful completion of a recognized high school equivalency examination
Satisfactory completion of:
a) Two years of electrical courses consisting of the fundamentals of DC/ AC at a recognized trade school.
b) Two years of refrigeration and air conditioning at a recognized trade school and E.P.A. universal certification.
c) At least two years of work experience as a Journeyman, and presently working on that classification or must have been classified as an Office Building Mechanic,
d) Must make a score of at least 80 on a written test consisting of 100 questions taken from approved vocational text books on inside electrical wiring and refrigeration/air conditioning.
e) Appropriate drivers license to operate motor vehicles up to 25,000 pounds.
