Position Description: Work assignments for this Assembly Mechanic will primarily involve the assembly of structural components during the production of aircraft. Some mechanical and electrical component assembly may also be required. Applicants will measure and locate structural complements by hand layout, or by utilizing tooling, as well as, rework, repair, modify, and inspect assemblies, tooling, structures, aircraft, and/or completed aerospace vehicles. Read and interpret work instructions, processes, procedures, blue prints, 3D models. Participate on teams, identify problems, resolve problems, and recommend production and quality improvements.

Basic Qualifications For Consideration Do you meet the criteria described in the 'Typical Education/Experience' section of this requisition? Are you willing to work 2nd shift? Do you have experience working in a manufacturing \ production environment? Do you have experience working with hand held power tools? Do you have experience working from information such as assembly instructions, blue prints, diagrams, drawings, and work specifications?
Typical Education/Experience: Typical successful candidate would possess a High School Diploma or GED and/or manufacturing experience or related technical training. Military, commercial, and/or private aircraft maintenance or repair experience desirable. A&P license also preferred.
Other Job related information: An ability to obtain an interim and/or final clearance (post-start) is required for this position - US Citizenship Required or equivalent (Refer to Security Clearance Definitions link above). Assembly Mechanic work is performed in a factory environment and appropriate safety equipment is required. Candidates may have to work in crowded spaces or at heights. Must be able to work second shift and overtime as needed to support production requirements. New Hires, as well as employees who transfer from other Boeing positions, will be required to attend some type of Structural Assembly training upon their start. Once any required training has been completed all new employees will be considered on probation for a period of forty (40) working days. Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of any required training and the probationary period.
