Kelly Services is currently looking for a Plastics Machine Operator (PMO - Extrusion) for a plastics manufacturing facility in Carlyle, IL.
General Description:  The molding operator's duty is to operate the molding machine in a safe and efficient manner and to produce quality parts.  The operator's focus should be on removing molded parts from the machine and checking for any defects.  Secondary operations may be performed if time allows. 
Job Duties:
1.Be in the molding department and at your machine on time.
2.Review and discuss all quality problems regarding the parts coming out of your assigned machine with the person you are relieving.
3.If you do not understand something, ask your Team Leader for further training.
4.Read all procedure tutorials at machine. (Work Instructions, Quality Alert, Quality Checklist and any secondary tutorials). You must initial the laminated form to show that this has been completed.
5.Confirm all supplies, fixtures, gauges and labels are at the machine according to the Work Instructions and/or Materials List.
6.Update tackt board hourly with # of pieces/hour and # of scrap parts/hour.
7.At any given time during productions a quality issue arises, use "The 5 Part Rule" - contact your Supervisor and Quality Control.
8.If the machine you are operating is going to be down for any period of time, see the Supervisor or Team Leader for additional duties to perform.
9.Run the machine at the proper cycle.  Make sure you remove each part as it is molded.  Do not allow the door to stand open. 
10.Keep your machine and working area clean and orderly.
11.Always be safety conscious.
12.Maintain an open mind and be willing to try new procedures and new practices.
13.Rework and other secondary jobs are to be done on machines with long cycles.  Everyone is to stay busy. 
14.Return to your workstation promptly after each break.
15.Other duties as assigned by Molding Supervisor or other members of Management.
•Minimum 1-year of machine operator experience
•Machine set-up experience a plus
•Computer programming a plus
•Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
•Ability to work independently
•Prior Military experience a plus
•Trade or Technical school/training a plus
•Solid work history
Education Required:  High School Diploma/GED
