Title: Building Services Intern (May-Aug 2013)
Location: St. Louis, MO
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Temporary full-time Facilities Management Internship for an undergraduate in Junior or Senior status as of May, 2013. Position available from May-August 2013.
Assist with the operation, maintenance, and oversight of construction projects associated with buildings located throughout Metro St. Louis.
Assist with building inspections to ensure proper operation of systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) Monitor contractor performance to ensure facilities are maintained to department standards.
Assist with making routine contacts with division personnel to ascertain building-related problems/conditions and provide prompt feedback and direction.
Perform administrative duties, i.e. contracts/specification development, submit requisitions for labor and/or materials, review vendor invoices.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Currently undergraduate of Junior or Senior status in Facilities Management from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 12 hours of Facility Management course work required. Completed course work through the sophomore level with a GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
Experience
Problem solving & analysis skills. Strong Microsoft Office skills preferred. Previous facilities management internships or Co-ops a plus, but not required.

Good communication and computer skills. Ability to analyze and solve building related problems on a daily basis. Adaptable and flexible. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
