Customer Service Representatives assist Dayton Freight customers with a variety of inquiries including pickup requests, rate quotes/freight charges, hot shipments, shipment tracing, appointments and special requests; assist Service Center (SC) Manager; take and deliver messages for SC Manager and Account Managers; provide assistance for Drivers; refer to Company literature for answers and additional training; prepare Bill of Lading and Delivery Receipts; maintain excellent communication with external and internal customers as well as interline companies; may be asked to assist with payroll, data entry, freight reports, Driver collect reports, billing and filing; effectively handle special assignments as directed.
