POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Communications Consultant provides counsel/support to internal clients on internal communications issues. Key responsibilities include: - Research, write and edit internal print and digital media. Duties will include needs assessments, message planning, message creation and art direction. - Provide counsel/support to internal clients on internal communication issues. Research, recommend and develop new communications strategies, tactics and channels. - Serve as lead employee communications person on committees, panels and teams. - Develop materials for Intranet sites. - Other communications duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Communications, English or Journalism from an accredited college or university required. Experience Three or more years of experience with professional writing and/or editing business communications, both print and electronic, required. Significant experience in producing corporate publications and developing plans and materials in response to internal communications issues preferred. Utility or heavy industry background preferred. Video, web, media relations experience also preferred. Other Must have strong writing/reporting and organizational skills. Exceptional ability to write quickly and thoughtfully about complex issues. Strong background in editing publications required. Must be well-organized and able to work on several projects concurrently. Ability to work well with senior management and other employees at all levels of the corporation also required. Must have understanding of web-based media and communications methods. Must be willing to develop understanding of company and industry issues, programs and cultures. Finalist may be asked to take a short writing test. *Salary dependent upon individual credentials and position market pay level.
