Student Engineer Co-op (May-December 2013)
Prepare procedures, specifications, and drawings necessary for operating, maintaining, or modifying chemical-related equipment. Perform inspections of chemical equipment & plant equipment affected by chemical systems (such as boilers & condensers). Coordinate the work the contractors and Ameren personnel to operate or maintain the equipment. Also perform other plant duties such as monitoring the performance of chemical systems, performing calculations, and writing reports summarizing the performance of those systems. Interact with other Engineering, Generation, and Training groups as well as other internal customers.
Work location is primarily in an office environment, although field visits and inspections will be required frequently.
Education: Candidate shall have completed at least 2 years towards a B.S. degree in Chemical engineering. Completed course work in engineering through the sophmore level with a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
Experience: None required.
Other: Good analytical, communication, and human relations skills. Profiency in the use of PC-based spreadsheets, graphics, word processing, and database software is desirable. Must be able to operate an automobile. Must be able to enter and work in tight, enclosed spaces. Must be able to wear a respirator. Good analytical, communication, and customer service skills required. Position is scheduled to begin May 2013 and end in December 2013.
