Kaskaskia College Foundation Scholarship Details
Scholarship Name: Oscar M. Corbell Memorial Scholarship

;#Education;#Full-Time Student;#GPA Greater Than 2.00;#Resident of Clinton, Fayette or Marion County;#



The following criteria are established for the Oscar M. Corbell Memorial Scholarship: 

  •       The applicant shall be a resident of Fayette County, Marion County, or Clinton County, Illinois and must enroll as a full-time student at Kaskaskia College for the fall semester following acceptance of the award
  •       The applicant shall be a graduate or impending graduate of Centralia High School, Centralia, Illinois, or of the Vandalia Community Unit District #203 High School to be given priority
  •       In light of Oscar M. Corbell’s lifelong devotion to education, the applicant shall evidence in manner satisfactory to the Foundation with an intent to pursue an education-related major, although such preference shall not be controlling if other factors of eligibility shall be deemed more compelling for the award of the scholarship 
  •       The applicant’s educational transcript shall evidence a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale
  •       The applicant should evidence a reasonable degree of interest and activity in service in school, community or church
  •       The applicant’s comparative financial need with other applicants shall be a factor of consideration
  •       Two scholarships will be awarded for $500 each and will be credited to the account of each recipient.  Past recipients of the Oscar M. Corbell Scholarship will have priority for application and continuance of the scholarship.  If a freshman recipient declines the scholarship, the scholarship selection committee will make the award to a new student
  •       No relative of Oscar M. Corbell within the third degree of relationship shall be eligible as a scholarship recipient
