Kaskaskia College Announces Winners of “Career-A-Thon” Contest

Kaskaskia College is announcing the winners of its “Career-A-Thon” contest for local area High School students.


“The Career-A-Thon contest is designed to help area high school students in developing a successful career choice,” said KC Business professor Tim March.  The contest included the categories; Accounting/Business, Agriculture/Horticulture, Computers/Office Technologies, and Culinary/Hospitality.


The winners were, by category: 

Accounting/Business- Abigail Capps and Parker Zelasko of Centralia High tied for first/second places; Marliana Kehrer of Wesclin High and Caleb Wehking of Centralia High tied for third/fourth place.


Agriculture/Horticulture- Christonia Saddler of Sandoval High, first place; Mackenzie Schulte of Centralia High, second place; Hannah Witzel of Centralia High, third place; and Gregory Johnson of Centralia High, fourth place.


Computer/Office Technologies- Kssandra Ingersoll of Centralia High, first place; Gregory Johnson of Centralia High, second place; Christonia Saddler of Sandoval High, third place; and Hannah Witzel and Malik Carr, both of Centralia High, tied for fourth place.


Culinary/Hospitality- prizes were handed out for first and second places.  C.J. Berry of Centralia High took first place and Christonia Saddler of Sandoval High took second place.


The winners each received KC Bookstore or Amazon gift cards.


In addition, trophies were awarded to the top three high schools.  Centralia High took first place, Sandoval High took second place, and Wesclin high took third place.​
