Kaskaskia College sophomore golfer Parker Lawrence has qualified to compete in the NJCAA Men's National Championship held May 20-23 at Swan Lake Resort’s Black Course in Plymouth, Indiana.
Lawrence qualified by shooting a 54-hole total of 227 in the Region 24 Tournament held at The Weibring Golf Club in Bloomington, Illinois. The score was good enough for third place finish in the field of 45, and earned Lawrence All-Region 24 honors. Lawrence is the first male KC golfer in the modern era to qualify for the national tournament in both his freshman and sophomore seasons.
Lawrence is a sophomore from Breese. He is undecided on his plans upon graduating from KC this month, but is planning to continue his education and golf career at a four-year institution. He is the son of Corey and Colleen Lawrence.
