The Kaskaskia College Trenton Education Center will be offering two new Drafting course starting in May. Revit (DFTG 201) and Architectural Drafting CAD-Revit (DFTG 209) will both be offered this summer.
Revit features include a stream line user interface, ribbons, tool palettes, direct object manipulation and integrated photo realistic rendering and animation. The assignments utilize hands-on methods of learning the key to the major commands and outlines used in operating Autodesk Revit software. Students will complete activities to create not only good technical skills but practice the 10 traits that form the core of good work ethics. This class will be held on Tuesday evenings beginning May 20 and ending August 5 from 5:00 to 9 p.m.
Architectural Drafting CAD (Revit) provides a practical approach to architectural drafting utilizing Autodesk Revit. Specific areas of study include: professional careers, building codes, symbols, floor plans, foundation plans, site orientation, electrical plans, plumbing plans, roof plans, elevations, basic residential and commercial construction specifications, plot plans. Emphasis is on standardization and implementing common approaches in architectural drafting. Students will complete activities to create not only good technical skills but practice the 10 traits that form the core of our Work Ethic curriculum. This class will be held on Thursday evenings beginning May 22 and ending August 7 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Drafting instructors will at the Trenton Education Center on Thursday, May 15 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in TC-117 to discuss the new drafting courses with potential students. Registration for these classes can also be completed at this time.
