Kaskaskia College is proud to announce that for the fifth straight year the College has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR). The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by an organization and its Financial Management Team.
Nancy Kinsey, Vice President of Administrative Services for Kaskaskia College said, “It is truly an honor to receive this award for the fifth straight year. We are so proud to be recognized with the highest award a College or University can achieve for excellence in accounting and financial reporting.”
According to KC President Dr. Jim Underwood, “We are once again proud of our Financial Management Team for receiving this honor for five straight years. This is a very prestigious accomplishment that has taken a very dedicated and talented team to achieve. This award is recognition of the excellent financial stewardship of our Board of Trustees and staff."
According to the certification, Kaskaskia College has been judged by an impartial panel and has met the high standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and to state to potential users and user groups that the College’s student and financial records meet full certification requirements.
The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 17,500 finance professionals with offices in Chicago, IL, and Washington, D.C.
