Kaskaskia College Construction Project Management Holds Advisory Board Meeting

Topics discussed include an introduction to degree and coursework; the future of the Construction Project Management Program and how to increase enrollment by making the high school construction and agriculture instructors aware of the Construction Project Management degree.  This can be achieved by hosting an annual event focused in Construction Management inviting the high school students.

Other plans are to become a “continuing education” location for local Carpenters Unions; adding three certificates focusing on three major areas of Construction Management such as 1. Materials, Methods and Blueprint Reading, 2. Estimating and 3. Scheduling.

The Advisory board suggested an internship built in to the degree to help the students gain experience either in Construction Management or Construction.

Also discussed was the new articulation agreement with Kaskaskia’s Construction Project Management Degree and SIU-Carbondale’s Technical Resource Management Degree and the future potential 2+2 articulation agreements with additional 4-year universities.
