Kaskaskia College Nursing Students Volunteer to Help Prepare New St. Joseph’s Hospital

Students from Kaskaskia College’s Associate Degree Nursing program recently volunteered their time to prepare patient rooms at the new St. Joseph’s Hospital in Highland, IL.

Although Highland is outside of the Kaskaskia College district, the KC Nursing program was happy to offer the volunteerism opportunity to its students, who responded with enthusiasm.  Service to others is a standard tenet of Kaskaskia College’s philosophy, as is evidenced by the numerous community oriented events for which students and staff volunteer.

At St. Joseph’s, the students assisted hospital staff in making beds, stocking supplies in patient rooms, and last minute cleanup in preparation for the hospital’s move to its new location.

Participating students were Tiffany Wickman, Greenville; Emily Rakers, Pocahontas; Rachel Litteken, Vandalia; Katie Ledbetter, Vandalia; Samantha Osborne, Highland; Kayla Weiss, Highland
