Kaskaskia College Trenton Steering Committee met in its regular monthly session
on Thursday, August 29 at the Trenton House Restaurant. The committee has been tasked with the site
selection, fundraising, and design of an expanded Trenton Education center
facility. It is chaired by the Trenton
Sun’s Mike Conley.
the site selection and design tasks completed, the committee has been focused
on raising the necessary funds to ensure timely completion of the project,
construction of which is underway and expected to be completed in the spring of
2014. As of the meeting date, it was
reported that additional funds of $74, 574 are needed to bring the project to

space of 3,800 square feet within a building owned by the City of Trenton. The donation of the entire building to the
College to house the Center, generously made possible by the Trenton City
Council, will allow for the expansion out to nearly 16,000 square feet of
instructional, laboratory, and business development space.

American Legion hall, and the sales of brick pavers. The pavers, 4” by 8” or 8” by 8” and
inscribed with a message of the donor’s choice, can be purchased for $150 or
$300 respectively. These pavers will
ultimately be placed as part of the new entrance to the expanded Center.

for the residents of Western Clinton County and to sell cash raffle tickets and
brick pavers, as well as accept donations from citizens who wish to support
higher education and the economic good that expanded educational opportunities
