Assistance from Ameren Illinois will help Kaskaskia College expand the Trenton Education Center

Officials from Ameren Illinois were on hand at Kaskaskia College’s Lifelong Learning Center on Monday, June 3, to announce a $15,000 contribution to the College’s Trenton Education Center.

The funds will help the College add new classrooms, labs, and space for industrial training programs, growing the Trenton Education Center from its current 3,800 feet of instructional space to nearly 16,000 feet.

“We believe strongly in supporting programs that will prepare workers for the next generation of industrial and technical jobs in this country,” said George Justice, Director of Division VI operations for Ameren.  “Education and training is important to our company and we’re glad to provide additional resources to help Kaskaskia College to expand.”

Dr. James Underwood, President of Kaskaskia College, thanked Ameren Illinois on behalf of those who will be served by the new and expanded Center.  “We held our groundbreaking ceremony for Trenton last Friday,” Dr. Underwood said. “Your generous support will help us to fulfill the educational needs of the region.”

Work on the expansion of the Trenton Center is expected to be underway this week, with completion expected in the Spring of 2014.  For more information on the Trenton Center expansion, please contact Suzanne Christ at 618-545-3069 or
