St. Elmo’s Feezel, Manley choose Kaskaskia College

After leading the St. Elmo Eagles to the super-sectionals and the best record in school history, teammates Savannah Feezel and Perry Manley will be playing on the same court once again in college.

Feezel and Manley both agreed to play volleyball for Kaskaskia College starting next season.

The decision was based on the fact that they both felt Kaskaskia offered a good classroom experience and provided a very competitive team on the court.

“They have a lot of new technology in their classrooms,” Feezel said. “Also, (the volleyball team) had a really good year this year.”

“We want to make Kaskaskia better and hopefully we’ll help them repeat their success from last year,” Manley added.

Both players said they were happy with the way their senior season at St. Elmo ended, and that they’ll get to continue their playing days in college.

“We feel very good that we were able to do that for our school,” Manley said.

“It’s something we won’t ever forget,” Feezel added.

This isn’t the first time the Eagles have sent a volleyball player to Kaskaskia.

Brooke Maxey just finished up her sophomore season for the Blue Devils.

St. Elmo coach Elise Asher said the school has a good relationship with Kaskaskia coach Kim Rahar and that she enjoys taking her team to watch the Blue Devils in action.

“We always take the kids down and watch the girls compete,” she said. “We’ll definitely continue on with that next year.”

Asher added that watching two of her players sign letters to play in college was a nice ending to an excellent season.

“It’s pretty exciting,” she said. “It was an exciting year and it’s nice to have a couple players sign to keep playing in college and competing at a higher level.”

Manley plans to study to become a Veterinarian Technician, while Feezel is still undecided on a major.
