Dairy Judging Team Second in Nation at Ft. Worth

The Kaskaskia College Dairy judging team, under the guidance of Professor Aaron Heinzmann, took second High Team honors at the Southwestern Intercollegiate Dairy Judging Contest at the Ft. Worth Stock Show in Ft. Worth, Texas on January 19 and 20, 2013.

The team finished second in Jerseys, fifth in Brown Swiss, third in Holsteins, and third in Oral Reasons.  Individually, Morgan Wendling finished fifth in Jerseys, eighth in Brown Swiss, tenth in Holsteins, and was fourth High Individual Overall.  Dylan Reed was seventh in Jerseys, eighth in Hosteins, ninth in Oral Reasons, and was fifth in High Individual Overall.  Jessica Telgmann was seventh in Holsteins and sixteenth in Overall, and Brett Woker finished tenth in Jerseys and seventeenth Overall, and Ryan Vonder Haar was eleventh in Jerseys.

“This contest was in a single-division format,” said Heinzmann, “so our team of freshmen faced off against mainly college seniors from teams that have been very successful at national contests across the nation.  KC’s was the youngest group in the field.  Please join me in congratulating Morgan Wendling, Dylan reed, Jessica Telgmann, Brett Woker, Ryan Vonder Haar, and Adrienne Brammeier on a great performance.  They represented KC very well.”
