Intro to Contemporary Math (MATH-130)

Description: A selection of mathematical principles to better understand issues in a contemporary society. The focus is on mathematical reasoning and the solving of real-life problems rather than routine skills and appreciation. Topics include mathematical modeling, probability and statistics, graph theory, and linear programming. Prerequisite: Completion of 2 years of high school algebra with a grade of C or better, or MATH 107 with a grade of C or better. SAT Math score 550 or above, ACT math score 23-25,COMPASS math score Algebra Domain 66-99, COMPASS math score College Algebra Domain 0-45, or KC Placement math score College Algebra Domain 75-100. PARCC math score of 4-5.
