Applied Respiratory Sciences (RESP-111)

Description: This course will provide the student with a foundation in the basic sciences of respiratory therapy including the principles of chemistry, physics mathematics and microbiology as it relates to respiratory therapy. An in-depth study of Pulmonary Physiology will also be covered that will include anatomy of the respiratory system, mechanics of ventilation, gas exchange and transport, regulation of breathing and acid-base balance. Prerequisite: Admission into the Respiratory Therapy Program.
