Description: An introductory examination or survey of the development of American political concepts, social changes, intellectual growth, economic philosophies, and religious institutions from the discovery of America by the Europeans through the end of the Civil War in 1865. Prerequisite: Students must qualify for ENGL 101 before registering for this class.
