1. Do
you think that both the pattern of assimilation and the pattern of conflict
accurately describe the state of racial relations between blacks and whites in America
today? State your position using terms and evidence from the text.
2. Compare
and contrast the functionalist and conflict perspective on prejudice and
discrimination. Is one a better explanation than the other? Are they
complementary? Defend your conclusion.
