Grading Scale:           A         100-91.0% of total points

                                    B         90.9-82.0% of total points

                                    C         81.9-73.0% of total points

                                    D         72.9-64.0% of total points

                                    F          <64%

 

Grades will consist of:

            Exams: There will be five exams in this course, each covering a section as follows:

                                    #1 – Reproductive/Embryology

                                    #2 – Urinary System

                                    #3 – Digestive System

                                    #4 – Cardiovascular System

                                    #5 – Pulmonary/Endocrine Systems

 

Points will vary.  Students are expected to attend each day.  If you cannot make it to an exam, you must notify me 24 hours before, or 48 hours after, the test date.  A form of make-up for the missed points may be available if you missed an exam under extenuating circumstances.  Exam dates are tentative.  No extra credit will be available.

 

            Other: Labs will consist of various microscope slides, models, cat for dissection and the cadaver.  Students will work in groups of 3 to 4 for the cat dissection.  Lab grades will include quizzes over the following topics:

1)      Embryology/Reproductive System

2)      Urinary System

3)      Digestive System

4)      Cardiovascular System

5)      Pulmonary System

 

After each lab, the tables are to be cleaned and all materials stored in their proper places.  Cats will be kept in their plastic bags and placed in the storage room or taken home.  Various lab specimens are available for check out in the library.

 

Additional materials needed for class:

1.      Non-elastic gloves (preferably vinyl)

2.      Dissection kit (with extra scalpel blades)

3.      Plastic apron or white lab coat

4.      Colored pencils or markers

5.      Others as announced
