Kaskaskia College’s Adult Education Bridge Program for Health Care
Occupations is designed to:
- To ensure students have the opportunity to earn their
GED® Credentials through
a variety of instructional modes.
- To assist students in obtaining the basic academic
competencies that are relevant to their career/occupational pathway
within the health care sector without the need for remediation of core concepts.
- To provide academic and support services that
are flexible, easily accessible, and which lead to employment and self-sufficiency.
The program consists of four academic components:
- Adult Basic and Secondary Education
- Career Assessment and Computer Literacy
- Soft Skills and Workplace Ethics
- College and Workplace Readiness
Classroom instruction consists of traditional classroom
instruction, the establishment of learning communities, and accessibility to on-line
academic services. The curriculum consists of learning components that allow a
student to shift between or out of the outline for instruction, based on their
academic achievements, literacy needs, and employment and/or educational goals,
without affecting their progression of learning.
Online academic services have been added to our website to enhance students’ learning. Students whose academic needs include independence, flexibility, and easy accessibility to instructional materials can access correspondence related to the four academic components of the program by visiting the following website links:
